Audiophiles, this one's for you (mostly)
First thing’s first, here’s a song I can’t stop listening to this week.
I’ve gone back and forth over the last few days about whether or not to write something this week.
After three weeks of putting this bad boy together, I noticed I had trouble enjoying the things I watched, listened to, and the conversations I had. Found myself constantly wondering whether or not my experiences were “newsletterable”. Such a drag. So instead, I recorded audio versions of the last three Too Much To Text newsletters in preparation for not writing.
Then I recalled a piece I once wrote (but deleted out of the aforementioned embarrassment) titled “January Sucks”. It was about how stressful it is to make resolutions in January and propositioned that we instead make them in February, a much less intimidating month. Last night, before realizing it was the last day of January, I managed to settle on my word of the year: patience. Last year was contentedness in case you were wondering.
There are many thoughts and stories I look forward to sharing with you this year, but for tonight I’m practicing patience with myself, even though I really want to muscle something out for you about how women treat each other and how men process emotions…
This week, for all of my audiophile friends, here’s me in all my glory, reading my own words awkwardly, probably too fast and unedited with some added commentary. Kudos to you if you can actually tell where I’m reading my writing vs commenting on it.
And that, my friends, was too much to text.
Too Much To Text is a weekly brain dump written by Nina Stepanov. She also wrote this little blurb but she wrote it in the third person, so it sounds more official. If you like what’s happening here, share it with a friend or your parents. Parents love Nina.
